Flange Gaskets (Virgin & Envelope)
Sealing solutions for flanged joints.

Key Details
- PTFE envelope gaskets: These combine a resilient elastomer core (like EPDM or Viton) with a seamless PTFE outer layer. This design offers excellent chemical inertness on the sealing surface while retaining the sealing memory of the elastomer core. They are used for manlids and valves.
- Virgin PTFE gaskets: Made from pure PTFE, these offer maximum chemical resistance but have limited elasticity and are susceptible to "cold flow" (deformation under pressure).

Product Overview
Flange gaskets on an ISO tank container are the static seals placed between two flanged surfaces to prevent leaks. These gaskets are a crucial safety component and must be chosen carefully to be compatible with the specific chemical cargo, operating temperature, and pressure. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) This is the most common gasket material for chemical transport due to its nearly universal chemical resistance.
