An aluminum walkway on an ISO tank container is a lightweight, anti-slip platform that provides safe access for operators to the top-mounted valves, manlids, and fittings. It is a critical safety feature for personnel performing tasks like loading, unloading, inspection, and maintenance.
Optimal access: Walkways are designed to provide safe access to all necessary points on the tank's top surface. Some tanks have an "E" configuration to allow access to all four corners, the manlid, and other top openings. The walkway is positioned to provide a safe landing when transitioning from the access ladder.
Increased safety: The presence of a dedicated walkway discourages operators from walking directly on the curved tank surface, which is a major safety hazard. For added protection, railings may also be installed, especially if the tank is being used without a site gantry.
